Procedure
A solution of carbobenzoxychloride 7.87 g in methylene chloride 50 ml is dropped to a mixture of L-prolinol 4.9 g in methylene chloride 50 ml and sodium hydrogen carbonate 11.6 g in water 50 ml at 0° C. under vigorously agitation. The mixture is stirred for 1 hour at room temperature. The organic layer is separated, washed, dried and concentrated in vacuo to give N-carbobenzoxy-L-prolinol 10.25 g.
