Procedure

Thiophenol (7.27 g, 71.0 mmol) was added to a solution of the title compound of Example 11b (17.0g, 59.0 mmol) and K2CO3 (24.4 g, 177 mmol) in DMF (200 mL). After heating at 9 degrees C. for 2 hours, the mixture was concentrated under a stream of N2. The solution was acidified to pH=1 with 1M KHSO4, extracted into EtOAc (2×) and the organic phases were washed with brine and dried over MgSO4. The solution was concentrated in vacuo to yield the title compound as a white solid and was carried on without additional purification.
