Procedure

The product from Example 38A (0.1 g, 0.276 mmoles) in DMF (0.7 mL) was treated with sodium hydride (0.012 g, 0.3 mmoles, 60% dispersion). After 10 minutes, the reaction mixture was treated with iodomethane (0.02 mL, 0.36 mmoles) and then stirred overnight at room temperature. The mixture was diluted with diethyl ether (100 mL), washed with saturated ammonium chloride (50 mL) and water (50 mL) twice, washed with brine (50 mL), dried (Na2SO4), filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure to provide the title compound which was used in the next step without further purification.

Workup

  1. washwashed with saturated ammonium chloride (50 mL) and water (50 mL) twice
  2. washwashed with brine (50 mL)
  3. dry with materialdried (Na2SO4)
  4. filtrationfiltered
  5. concentrationconcentrated under reduced pressure
