Procedure

To a solution of t-BOC-Gly-Ama-diEt (985.2 g, 2.96 mol) in 770 mL CH2Cl2, 770 mL trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) was added. The resulting mixture was stirred and after 6 hour a precipitate formed, which was collected after 8 hours. Recrystallization from CHCl3 gave 1025.1 g of TFA-Gly-Ama-diEt as a white solid: 1H NMR (DMSO-d6): δ 9.34 (d, 1H, NH), 8.13 (b.s., 3H, NH2 TFA salt), 5.17 (d, 1H, CH), 4.20 (m, 4H, CH2), 3.71 (d, 2H, CH2), 1.22 (t, 6H, CH3).
