Procedure
0.12 g of the imidazo[5,1-b]thiazole-3-carbaldehyde prepared in Preparation 43 was dissolved in 3 ml of ethanol. To this solution were added 1 ml of triethylamine and 0.06 g of hydroxylamine hydrochloride, and the mixture was stirred at 60° C. for 1 hour. The reaction solution was concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography, eluting with a 20:1 mixture of chloroform and methanol to give 0.72 g (yield 56%) of the title compound.
