Procedure
A solution of 8-difluoromethoxy-2-trifluoromethylquinoline-4-carboxylic acid (0.50 g) in dichloromethane (30 ml) was stirred at room temperature under an atmosphere of nitrogen. Oxalyl chloride (0.28 ml) was added followed by N,N-dimethylformamide (1 drop) and stirring continued overnight. The solvent was removed in vacuo to give 8-difluoromethoxy-2-trifluoromethylquinoline-4-carbonyl chloride (650 mg) as an off white solid.
