By essentially following the procedure outlined in Example 1, part D, the title compound was prepared in 71% yield from 4-[2-(diethylamino)ethoxy]phenyl 2-(4-methoxyphenyl)benzo[b]thiophen-3-yl ketone (Part A) as an orange foam following flash chromatography (SiO2; 5% TEA in THF).
