To a stirring mixture of 9-(4-chloro-benzenesulfonyl)-2-ethyl-9-aza-bicyclo[3.3.1]nonan-3-one (180 mg, 0.52 mmol) in DMF (1 mL,) was added N,N-dimethylformamide dimethyl acetal (1 mL). The resulting mixture was heated to 110° C. for 2 h after which the reaction mixture was concentrated under reduced pressure to give the desired product as a brown oil. This crude product was directly taken to the next reaction without any further purification. Retention time (min)=2.365 min, Method [1], MS (ESI) 370 (M-NMe2+OH+H).
