110 mg of potassium carbonate were added to a solution of 70 mg of 4-[6-(2-fluorophenoxy)oxazolo[4,5-c]pyridin-2-yl]-2,6-dimethylphenol in 1 ml of dimethylformamide, and 51 mg of tert-butyl bromoacetate were then added. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 16 h. The reaction mixture was then added to water and extracted twice with ethyl acetate. The collected organic phases were dried and concentrated. This gave 93 mg (100%) of the title compound, which was reacted further without any further purification.
