A solution of 3-(3-chloro-4-isopropoxyphenyl)pyridin-2-amine (770 mg) in THF (dry) (10 mL) was added to a suspension of NaH (60%, 586 mg) and 2-chloroethanesulfonyl chloride (0.919 mL) in THF (dry) (10 mL) at 0° C. The mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight. Water and hexane were added to give a white precipitate. The precipitate was collected by filtration, washed with water and EtOAc and crystallized from THF—IPE to give the title compound (600 mg) as a white solid.
