Procedure

A mixture of 9-[4-(1,4-dioxaspiro[4.5]dec-8-yloxy)phenyl]-3,4-dihydropyrido[2,1-c][1,2,4]thiadiazine 2,2-dioxide (130 mg), 1M hydrochloric acid (15 mL) and dehydrated THF (15 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 8 hr. The reaction mixture was neutralized with 1M aqueous sodium hydroxide solution, and extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with saturated brine, dried over magnesium sulfate, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was washed with diethyl ether to give the title compound (109 mg) as a pale-yellow solid.
