A mixture of ethyl 2-(2,2-difluoroethoxy)-4-(methylamino)-5-nitrobenzoate (2.0 g; 6.57 mmol), Ra—Ni (1.0 g) and THF (100 mL) was stirred under H2-atmosphere (8 atm) over night at rt. Na2SO4 was added and the mixture was stirred another 30 min under H2-atmosphere. The mixture was filtered through celite and the sub-title compound was used in the next step without further purification.
