Procedure

To a solution of the ester from Step 3 (270 mg, 0.83 mmol) in dry THF (5 mL) at 0° C. was added a solution of diisobutyl aluminum hydride (1M) in toluene (2.1 mL, 2.1 mmol, 3.5 eq.). After 1 hour, the reaction mixture was added dropwise to a solution of 1N aqueous HCl and extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic phase was washed with brine, dried over MgSO4 and evaporated to dryness. The crude product was chromatographed on silica gel eluting with a 1:3 mixture of ethyl acetate-hexane to afford pure title compound as a yellow oil.
