To a solution of 1-[2-(4-bromomethyl-2-methyl-phenyl)-2-oxo-ethyl]-4-(5-chloro-pyridin-2-ylmethoxy)-1H-pyridin-2-one (preparation 3b, 110 mg, 0.23 mmol) in N,N-dimethylacetamide (2 mL) is added Cs2CO3 (184 mg, 0.57 mmol) and N-ethylpiperazine (63 μL, 0.75 mmol). The reaction mixture is stirred overnight at room temperature. The mixture is purified via reverse phase HPLC chromatography (Gilson Xbridge C18 5 μm, gradient 5%→90% acetonitrile in water+0.3% NH4OH, 120 mL/min).
