Procedure
tert-Butyl {[4-fluoro-5-(2-fluoropyridin-3-yl)-1-(pyridin-3-ylsulfonyl)-1H-pyrrol-3-yl]methyl}methylcarbamate (1.0 g) was dissolved in tetrahydrofuran (8 mL) and 2-propanol (2 mL), and 1 mol/L aqueous sodium hydroxide solution (5 mL) was added under ice-cooling. After stirring at room temperature for 18 hr, the solvent evaporated under reduced pressure, water was added to the residue and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The extract was washed with saturated brine, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate, and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (eluent: hexane-ethyl acetate=4:1→2:1) to give the title compound as a pale-yellow oil (yield 752 mg, quantitative).
