Procedure

2-Fluoro-4-iodo-3-methylpyridine (700 mg) in N-methylaniline (2.5 mL) was heated at 180° C. in a Biotage Initiator microwave reactor for 18 hours. The reaction mixture was loaded onto a silica gel cartridge, and was eluted with 0-100% dichloromethane in hexanes to provide the title compound.
