Procedure

The 4-(4-chloro-5,7-difluoro-3-methylquinolin-2-yl)piperazin-2-one (30 mg, 0.096 mmol) was dissolved in THF (1.0 mL) and sodium hydride (10.0 mg, 0.42 mmol) (60% suspension) was added followed by addition of iodomethane (17.0 μL, 0.27 mmol). The mixture was stirred for 1.5 h, then diluted with water. The mixture was extracted with EtOAc (2×15 mL). The combined organic layers were dried over magnesium sulfate. The filtrate was concentrated to give the desired product. Mass Spectrum (ESI) m/e=326.0 (M+1).
