chloroform (5 mL) and TFA (10 mL) were added to tert-butyl(E)-5-chloro-2-{1-[3-fluoro-4-(4-methyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl)phenyl]methylidene}valerate (1.96 g), and the reaction solution was stirred at room temperature for one hour. The reaction solution was concentrated under reduced pressure.
