Procedure
5-(2,5-difluorophenyl)-3-phenyl-1,2,3,6-tetrahydropyridine (1-7, 1.0 mg, 4 μmol) was dissolved in anhydrous CH2Cl2 (1.0 mL) and treated with excess triethylamine (10 μL) and dimethylcarbamoyl chloride (1.1 mg, 12 μmol). Upon completion the reaction was directly subjected to flash column chromatography (SiO2, 0-80% EtOAc-hexanes gradient) to yield 5-(2,5-difluorophenyl)-N,N-dimethyl-3-phenyl-3,6-dihydropyridine-1(2H)-carboxamide (1-8). MS 343.4 found 343.4 (M+H+) required.
