Procedure

5-Amino-2-(2-phenylchroman-6-yloxy)-pyridine (500 mg) and N-(tert-butoxycarbonyl)isonipecotic acid (541 mg) was dissolved in 40 ml of THF. 1-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-3-ethylcarbodiimide hydrochloride (451 mg) was added. The mixture was refluxed for few hours. Reaction was quenched with addition of water and extracted with ethyl acetate. Combined organic layers were washed with water, saturated sodium carbonate solution, dried with Na2SO4 and evaporated. 1H-NMR (300 MHz; d6-DMSO) δ: 10.0 (s, 1H), 8.31 (d, 1H, J 2.7 Hz), 8.03 (dd, 1H, J 2.7, 8.8 Hz), 7.47-7.33 (m, 5H), 6.92 (d, 1H, J 8.8 Hz), 6.87-6.84 (m, 3H), 5.13 (dd, 1H, J 2.2, 10.1 Hz), 4.04-3.96 (m, 2H), 2.99-2.91 (m, 1H), 2.81-2.69 (m, 3H), 2.20-2.12 (m, 2H), 2.08-1.98 (m, 1H), 1.79-1.74 (m, 3H), 1.50-1.35 (m, 11H).
