To a solution of acid from step 2 in DMF (0.05M) was added CDI (2 eq) and 4-fluoro-N′-hydroxybenzenecarboximidamide (2 eq). The reaction mixture was stirred at rt for 15 min and 18 h at 120° C. The reaction mixture cooled to rt, diluted with water and extracted with EtOAc. The organic extracts were washed with brine, dried over MgSO4, filtered and concentrated. The residue was purified by flash chromatography (hexane:EtOAc, 20:80) to afforded the title compound.
