Procedure

One liter of dichloromethane was mixed with 800 grams of 3-nitro 4-chlorobenzenesulfonyl chloride and a dichloromethane solution of 600 grams of hexadecylamine and 251 ml of triethylamine was added dropwise to the resulting mixture. After reaction, the reaction solvent was removed by distillation under reduced pressure, 3000 ml of methanol was added and a solution was obtained by heating. Crystals precipitated out on cooling this solution slowly. These crystals were recovered by filtration and dried.
