In a similar manner to Example 32 1-[[5-[[(ethylsulfonyl)amino]methyl]-1H-indol-3-yl]propyl]-4-(5-methoxy-4-pyrimidinyl)-3-methylpiperazine was synthesized by utilizing 1-(5-methoxy-4-pyrimidinyl)-2-methylpiperazine in the coupling step and ethanesulfonyl chloride in the sulfonylation step: C24H34N6O3S/2.9 HCl, m.p. 202°-210° C. Elemental analysis calculated: C, 48.66; H, 6.28; N, 14.19; found: C, 48.41; H, 6.35; N, 13.93.
