A solution of the product of step B (80 mg, 0.203 mmol) in N,N-dimethylformamide dimethyl acetal (2 mL) was stirred at 120° C. for 4 h. Upon cooling to RT, the solvent was removed under vacuum to leave a residue. The resulting residue was dissolved in 1,4-dioxane (1 mL) followed by the addition of NH2OH (0.016 mL of 50% solution in H2O, 0.243 mmol) and HOAc (0.5 mL). The reaction was stirred at 90° C. for 4 h before being cooled to RT. The reaction was quenched with a saturated aqueous solution of NaHCO3 and the layer was extracted with EtOAc (×3). The combined organic layers were washed with brine (1×), dried over MgSO4, filtered, and concentrated under vacuum to leave a residue which was purified by silica gel column chromatography (elution with 5:1 hexane:ethyl acetate) to give the title compound.
