Procedure
To a solution of methyl 5-((2-methoxy-2-oxoethyl)(methyl)carbamoyl)-1-(4-methoxybenzyl)-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylate (1.1 g, 2.93 mmol) in DMF (20 mL) was added NaH (0.12 g, 2.85 mmol, 60% in mineral oil) and the mixture was stirred a ambient temperature under nitrogen atmosphere for 50 min. Saturated NH4Cl/water was slowly added and stirring at ambient temperature continued for 50 min. The solid was filtered, dissolved in dichloromethane and the filtrate dried over sodium sulfate and concentrated to provide the title compound (0.60 g, 60%). 1H NMR (400 MHz, DMSO-d6) δ ppm 10.2 (s, 1H), 8.1 (s 1H), 7.22 (d, 2H), 6.9 (d, 2H), 5.8 (s, 2H), 3.9 (s, 3H), 3.7 (s, 3H), 3.42 (s, 3H); ES-LCMS: 344 (M+1).
