In a 20 mL microwave reactor was placed a solution of 4-bromo-2-(3-(4-methoxyphenyl)-2H-azirin-2-yl)pyridine (1.3 g, 4.3 mmol) and N,N-diisopropylethylamine (375 μL, 2.2 mmol) in 1,2-dichloroethane (10 mL). The mixture was heated to 175° C. for 1 hour. The cooled mixture afforded a precipitate which was filtered and dried under reduced pressure to afford the title compound as a white solid (910 mg, 70%). LCMS m/z 303.0, 305.0 (M+H)+, ret. time=2.88 min.
