Procedure

To a solution of tert-butyl((trans-4-cyanocyclohexyl)methyl)carbamate (1.4 g, 5.86 mmol) in CH2Cl2 (20 mL) was added TFA (20 mL) at r.t. The resulting mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1 h. TLC (PE:EA=5:1) showed the reaction was complete. The mixture was concentrated in vacuo to give trans-4-(aminomethyl)cyclohexanecarbonitrile (2.6 g, 319%) as TFA salts.
