Procedure

Methane sulfonic anhydride (0.78 g, 4.53 mmol) was added to a solution of the product of Step F (1,3 g, 3.78 mmol) in THF (40 mL) at 0° C. This mixture was stirred for 1 h and then allowed to warm to room temperature and stirred for an additional 2 h. The reaction mixture was washed with a saturated solution of sodium bicarbonate and extracted with ethyl acetate (3×100mL). The combined extracts were dried (MgSO4) and evaporated to a residue which was purified by column chromatography (silica, acetone/hexane, 1:1) to give 1 g (83%) of an off white amorphous solid.
