1,2-diamino-3-fluorobenzene (1.6 g, 12.7 mmol) and potassium ethyl xanthogenate (2.64 g, 16.5 mmol) were dissolved in ethanol (25 ml) and water (6 ml). The mixture was refluxed for 14 hours and then concentrated on a rotavapor. Water (20 ml) was added and the solution was acidified with 2M hydrochloric acid. The precipitate was filtered off and dried. In this way the title compound was obtained (1.23 g, 58%). NMR is given below.
