Procedure

The mixture of (R)-2,5-dimethyl-7-nitro-2,3-dihydrobenzofuran (3e) (0.84 g, 4.3 mmol) and Pd/C (100 mg, 15%) in THF (10 mL) was introduced H2 at ambient temperature. It was stirred at ambient temperature for 12 h. The mixture was filtered through Celite and concentrated to give the title compound (3f) as a solid. MS-ESI (m/z): 164 (M+1)+.
