Procedure
To a solution of (R)-1,1-dioxo-tetrahydro-1λ6-thiophen-3-ylamine hydrochloride (9.0 g, 52.43 mmol) in 400 mL of THF was added DIPEA (27.0 g, 210 mmol), followed by addition of a solution of 4-chloro-2-fluoro-6-nitrophenyl trifluoromethanesulfonate (20.36 g, 62.92 mmol). After being stirred at RT for 48 hours, the resulting mixture was diluted with water, and then extracted with EtOAc. The organic layer was washed by brine, and then dried over anhydrous Na2SO4, then filtered and concentrated. The residue was purified by flash chromatography to give 0.9 g of (4-chloro-2-fluoro-6-nitrophenyl)-((R)-1,1-dioxo-tetrahydro-1λ6-thiophen-3-yl)-amine.
