To the solution of methyl 4-(1-(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-yloxy)ethyl)benzoate (379 mg, 1.44 mmol) in methanol (15 mL) and water (5 mL) was added lithium hydroxide hydrate (100 mg, 2.4 mmol) were added. The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 12 hours. Then the reaction mixture was acidified by hydrochloric acid aqueous solution (1 N) to adjust pH=6 and extracted with dichloromethane (10 mL*3). The organic layers were combined and concentrated to give 4-(1-(tetrahydro-2H-pyran-4-yloxy)ethyl)benzoic acid (326 mg, 91%)
