To a solution of 6-bromo-N-((4,6-dimethyl-2-oxo-1,2-dihydropyridin-3-yl)methyl)-1-isopropyl-1H-pyrazolo[3,4-b]pyridine-4-carboxamide (0.1 g, 0.239 mmol) in DMF (2 mL), K2CO3 (0.198 g, 1.434 mmol) and piperidin-4-one HCl salt (0.186 g, 0.94 mmol) were added. The reaction mixture was heated at 80° C. for 16 h. Reaction was monitored by LCMS & TLC. On completion, reaction mass was poured into water and extraction was carried out using 5% MeOH/DCM. The combined organic layers were dried over anhydrous Na2SO4; filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by prep HPLC to provide the desired compound (0.03 g 28.8%).
