Handling is carried out in a glove box ([O2]<50 ppm). A solution of TCEP at 300 mmol/L is prepared in 0.2 M phosphate buffer at pH=7.2. 3-Mercaptophenylacetic acid (MPAA) (84 mg, 0.5 mmol) is then added. The pH of the TCEP/MPAA solution obtained is adjusted to pH=6.5.
