To a stirred solution of cinnamaldoxime (10 g, 68 mmol) in DMF (100 mL) at room temperature was added solid NCS (9.08 g, 68 mmol). The suspension was stirred at room temperature overnight. The reaction mixture was poured into ice-water, extracted with a mixture of ethyl acetate and hexanes (7:3, 3×), dried with Na2SO4, concentrated and dried in vacuum to give the title compound.
