Procedure
To a flask charged with 1-[2-(6-nitropyridin-3-yl)ethyl]piperazine hydrochloride (40 mg, 0.15 mmol) and and a stir bar was added 1-(2-bromoethyl)-4-nitrobenzene (40 mg, 0.18 mmol), DMF (2 mL), and triethylamine (0.082 mL, 0.59 mmol). The mixture was heated to 60° C. for 16 hours. LC showed formation of the desired product, which was separated by mass-directed HPLC. LC-MS (IE, m/z): 386 [M+1]+. (0.28 μM)
