Procedure

1H-benzo[d][1,2,3]triazol-4-ol (2.0 g) in tetrahydrofuran (30 mL) was treated with 60% sodium hydride (0.622 g). After 10 minutes, tert-butylchlorodimethylsilane (2.454 g) was added. The solution was stirred for 16 hours. The solvent was removed, and the residue was purified by flash column chromatography on silica gel using 10-50% ethyl acetate in hexanes as eluent to give the title compound.
