Procedure
To a solution of 1,1′-(7,8-dihydro-6H-dibenzo[f,h][1,5]dioxonine-3,11-diyl)bis(2,2-dibromoethanone) (1b) (0.38 g, 0.61 mmol) in THF (7 mL) at 0° C. was added Et3N (0.09 mL, 0.61 mmol) and diethyl phosphite (0.24 mL, 1.82 mmol). The reaction mixture was gradually warmed to room temperature, stirred for 1 h and concentrated under reduced pressure. The residual contents were partitioned between EtOAc and water. The organic layer was washed with brine, dried over sodium sulfate and concentrated under reduced pressure to yield an yellow oil (1c) which was used in the next step without further purification (0.15 g, 53%). m/z 468.9 (M+).
