Procedure
Cyclohexanecarbaldehyde, 26-a, (13.58 g, 0.121 mol) in dichloromethane (250 mL) were added (R)-2-methylpropane-2-sulfinamide (17.6 g, 0.145 mol), PPTS (3.03 g, 0.0121 mmol) and anhydrous CuSO4 (58 g, 0.363 mol). The resulting mixture was stirred at 37° C. overnight. The mixture was then filtrated and the filtrate was concentrated under vacuum. The residue was purified by column chromatography (petroleum ether/ethyl acetate=5/1) to provide the product, 26-b, (23 g, 88%).
