(R)-2-(9-Chloro-7-(4-isopropoxy-3-(trifluoromethyl)benzyloxy)-2,3-dihydro-1H-pyrrolo[1,2-a]indol-1-yl)acetic acid (15 mg, 0.031 mmol) was dissolved in a suitable solvent (THF or acetone, 0.5 mL) and heated to 60° C. 2.08 M aqueous KOH (15 mL, 0.031 mmol) was added and the reaction mixture was cooled to 35° C. and stirred for 24 h. No solid product was obtained.
