4,6-Dichloro-2-(isopropylamino)-1H-benzimidazole (0.83 g, 3.40 mmol), N,O-bis(trimethylsilyl)acetamide (0.88 mL, 0.72 g, 3.56 mmol), trimethylsilyl trifluoromethanesulfonate (0.43 mL, 0.49 g, 2.20 mmol), 1,2,3,5-tetra-O-acetyl-ribofuranose (1.31 g, 4.12 mmol) and 1,2-dichloroethane (10 mL) were used according to general procedure II. The product was purified by silica gel chromatography using 60:1 dichloromethane/methanol to afford 0.63 g (37%) of a white foam. MS (CI): m/z 502.1 (M+H).
