The compound 59 (584 mg, 163 mmol) was dissolved in THF (10 mL). Lithium hydroxide monohydrate (134 mg, 2.0 eq) was added followed by 10 mL of water. The mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight. The solvent was removed and the solution was adjusted to pH 3-4 using 3N HCl, The mixture was then extracted with EtOAc (4×20 mL). The combined organic layers were washed with brine and dried (MgSO4). After removal of the solvent a white solid was obtained as the product 60. LCMS 366.0 (M+23).
