Conditions
- Temperature
- 50 °C
Procedure
0.4 g of phosphorus oxychloride is added dropwise at 50-55° C. to 3 ml of dimethylformamide. The solution is stirred for a further 1 h at 50° C. 0.5 g (1.8 mmol) of 9-ethyl-4-methoxy-1-methyl-6,7,8,9-tetrahydropyrido-[2,3-g]quinol-2-one dissolved in 6 ml of dimethylformamide is then added at the same temperature with stirring. The mixture is stirred at 80-90° C. for a further 5 h. The intensively yellow-colored solution is discharged onto 50 ml of water and 10 g of ice and stirred at room temperature for 12 h. The pale-yellow precipitate is filtered off and dried.
