Five ml of tetrahydrofuran containing 38.75 mg of a cannabinol derivative having the formula ##STR4## were added to the activated-LPS effluent, and the mixture was incubated for 18 hours at 22° C. in the dark. Two ml of a solution of 4.5 mg/ml NaBH4 in H2O were added, and the mixture was incubated for 30 minutes at room temperature. Unconjugated THC derivative was removed by dialysis for 2 days against frequent changes of water and for 2 days against 0.1M acetic acid, pH 3.5, to yield a THC-LPS conjugate.
