Procedure
Reaction of 2-morpholinophenyl isothiocyanate (3.3 g) with ethylamine generated from ethylamine hydrochloride (12.18 g) and sodium methoxide [generated from sodium (3.5 g) and methanol (100 ml)] gave 1-ethyl-3-(2-morpholinophenyl)thiourea (m.p. 118°-120° C.) which was recrystallised from a 1:1 mixture of ethylacetate and hexane.
