Caprolactam, commercially available from Maybridge, (10.0 g, 88.0 mmol), Et3N (14.8 mL, 106 mmol) and chlorotrimethylsilane (13.5 mL, 106 mmol) were dissolved in toluene (60 mL) and refluxed under Ar for 3 h. The reaction was filtered and concentrated to give the title compound.
