To a solution of Example 8A (0.12 g, 0.26 mmoL) in MeOH (3 mL), H2O (3 mL), and THF (15 mL) was added LiOH.H2O (0.17 g, 3.84 mmoL). The mixture was stirred at 80° C. for 16 hours, poured into H2O, and extracted with ethyl acetate. The combined organic extracts were washed with brine, dried (MgSO4), filtered, and concentrated. Purification on silica gel with 2% MeOH/CH2Cl2 provided 0.02 g (20%) of the desired compound.
