Procedure
A solution of Example 11D (400 mg, 1.28 mmol) in isopropyl alcohol (5 mL) was treated with lithium hydroxide (1.0M, 1.28 mL, 1.28 mmol), stirred at room temperature for 1.5 hours, and partitioned between ethyl acetate and water. The aqueous layer was then acidified with 1N HCl, extracted with dichloromethane, dried (Na2SO4), filtered, and concentrated to provide 282.8 mg (74%) of the desired compound as a yellow oil.
Workup
- custompartitioned between ethyl acetate and water
- extractionextracted with dichloromethane
- dry with materialdried (Na2SO4)
- filtrationfiltered
- concentrationconcentrated
