Procedure

p-(2,2-Difluoro-1-methylcyclopropyl)phenol was prepared from 9.9 g. of p-(2,2-difluoro-1-methylcyclopropyl)anisole and 20 g. of boron tribromide in 200 ml. of ethylene dichloride according to the procedure described above in Example 1, part (c), affording 9 g. of pinkish oil which solidified upon standing.
