A mixture of 5.2 g. 3-butylsulphinyl-1,2,4-triazole, 6.0 g. diallylcarbamoyl chloride, 25 ml. dry tetrahydrofuran and 7.5 ml. dry triethylamine was refluxed under anhydrous conditions for 2 hours. The reaction mixture was filtered to remove triethylamine hydrochloride and the filtrate distilled under reduced pressure to remove solvent. Finally the residue was maintained at 100°C./0.5 mm. for 30 minutes in order to remove all traces of volatile material from the product. The product, 1-diallylcarbamoyl-3-n-butylsulphinyl-1,2,4-triazole, was obtained as an oil, nD26 1.5277. Elemental analysis satisfactory.
